dimming 98' cd player

hey guys, i have a question, my fathers 98 explorer's cd player is dimming. The diplay will finally come back, but only like once a month for a few minutes. Do you know if there's a bulb that's dimming. Has this happened to any of you with your stock cd player,

it could just be a bulb or something but i will sell you my factory cd player. It's from a 99 and it was hardly used. $100 if your dad is interested.

not a bulb problem. The solder on one of the circuit boards is bad. There is a way to fix it for a few weeks.
