Disable 4x4 - Temporary

I kow how to disable the 4x4 in my 2002 Ltd, by pulling #17 and #18 mini fuse under the hood....

Now how can I do this in my 2008 Eddie...... Does a fuse pull work ?

I tried to find where exactly I read it to confirm I am not speaking out of my a$$, but can't..... been some time ago. Kindly correct me where I've gone wrong.

From memory, if you push & release the Advance Trac or traction contol button, traction control is disengaged until you reach 25 MPH. Simple enough.

NOW... if you press and HOLD the same button for about 5-6 seconds, the dash light will blink several times & return steady and now auto 4X4 is disabled, again, until you reach the same 25 MPH. Holding the button disables, for lack of specific knowledge "the other systems" that are used to engage our 4X4 automatically. (wheel spin detect, brake assist, etc)

Yes a fuse pull does work, but the fuse that you need to pull is #6 to kill the integrated vehicle dynamics completely in the power distribution box. I believe that it kills the ABS, RSC, and auto 4x4 features.
If all you are after is the 4x4 feature then those two should work.

The procedure you are talking about does not affect 4WD/AWD operation.
The single press of that button disables stability control, but retains traction control. Holding the same button for several seconds (until stability control light flashes), disables traction control, too.
