Hey folks,

My 1997 truck has a factory keyless entry and keypad on the door, but also what looks like a dealer installed alarm under the dash - that says "Ford" on it.

30 seconds after turning the truck off, or hitting "unlock" on the transmitters, the starter kill will arm, and set the LED on the dash flashing.

The odd thing is that for a while, the LED was flashing fast, and this feature was disabled. It "magically" disabled, and "magically" re-enabled the other day. My guess is that it is some sort of valet mode.

How do I put it back into valet mode, or, turn the auto arm/auto starter kill back off?

Anyone have experience with these units, search was no help.

I think you have the same alarm as my '98 explorer. I unplugged the wiring harness. If I recall, there are two harnesses. The one with only 2 wires is the starter interrupt. I just stripped those two and twisted them together to bypass the starter disable.
