I know this is trivial, but what the hell, somebody might like it. You know how you have to hit the unlock button on the remote twice to unlock all the doors? If you hold both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for 4 seconds, the lights will flash and two-step will be disabled. Then you just have to hit the button once to unlock all the doors at once.

My wife just bought a 2011 Fusion and I read about that in the manual, so I wondered if the Explorer had it. Sure enough, it was in the manual, I guess it was easy to overlook.

good tip, didn't know that. thanks!

Gonna try this when I leave work today. I constantly get yelled at by my wife and daughter for not unlocking their doors in time. Probably doesn't help when I stare at them from inside the vehicle and shrug, "What?" lol

It worked on my 06 EB.

I'm sure your family will be happy now! :D On my wife's new Fusion, if you hold the unlock button, it will roll down the front windows. If only the Explorer did that :(

Can't find the setting if there is one, trying to have all the doors unlock when the passenger door is opened from the inside.
On my 2006 EXP, the drivers door unlocks/opens all the doors, but passenger does not.

On mine it only unlocks/opens the drivers and not the other doors, from the inside.

Hi Davidm53,

I don't know which year Explorer you have, but for the 2012 Explorers, the instructions on how to disable two-stage locking appears on page 137 of the second printing of the Owner's Manual. You can download a free copy here: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Crystal
