recently i just got the 4x4 lights and the motor to work on my X. Well i didn't seem like the 4x4 was working, so i put it on jack stands, started the car and put it in 4X4. Well the Front wheels don't turn and all you hear is a clicking sound. What's causing that?

x2.

Was the front driveshaft spinning while the front tires were off the ground?

I never looked to see if the the drive shaft was.

If you hear a grinding noise maybe it could be the motor on the transfer case that engages the 4x4 .. It has a worm gear in it and maybe it could me grinding / sliping. Hope this helps. Just an idea.

If you need a transfer case and electric motor I have a great working pair for $75 + shipping.

Most likely your autohubs are worn. But check to see if the front driveshaft is turning, if it is, and the wheels aren't, they you know where the problem lies.
