When I took it off to change the lower ball joint I don't see evidence of any threadlocker on there but videos I see on Youtube recommend using it. Do you use it?

If you replace the nut with a brand new one they are designed as self locking.

However, if you reuse the old nut a light touch of Loctite Blue would not hurt.

It's not a happy ending if those types of things fall off.

I didn't use it when I put mine back on. But it's not going to hurt anything if you do. It'll just be a SOB to get back off next time you have to take them off.

Not necessary. Just torque to spec. At 167-213 foot pounds it ain't going anywhere.

Yes, use blue Loctite (not red).

Ford doesn't spec Loctite because they tell you to replace the nut with a new one (which is already locking). They will also tell you that if you do reuse the nut, you should use Loctite.

The short answer is that everything on the suspension and driveline gets blue Loctite unless there is a specific reason to do otherwise. And that is not going to cause any problem at all for removal later.
