Unfortunately unless it is a much wider spread problem it will not show up with a standard OBD II scanner. Ford and a few other shops have a special scanner that is able to communicate with the GEM through the EEC to get the 4x4 codes. The average scanner only scans the eec for trouble codes.
hm, I was so happy that my Scangauges came in the mail today, but I guess it won't read 'em.
I tried it and it says not codes found, but it also says - not ready - so I don't know.
I am about to as well. I just cleaned my second speed sensor, but it actually looked fine as did the shift motor!
I called how much the diagnostic is and they said $80, just to run the scan!!! I mean seriously...
