I want to know how to remove this linkage from the manual control lever. do I just pry it off or is the a fastener?

I have loose linkage at the selector and trying set the linkage correctly to the lever.

It seems to beout of adjustment because it does not lock in a detent position in first gear.It feels like is has to go a little bit further.

Just a guess here, but to me it looks like you leave that part alone. By loosening the other bolts, and placing a 3/8" breaker bar or ratchet into that square opening, you adjust it there. Once it is to your liking, you tighten the bolts.

I could be way off here, but just trying to give a diff perspective.

If that part is the end of the cable on the transmission, it is the "P-R-N-D-L" sensor. It is a beeyatch to adjust. Loosen the bolts that hold it to the transmission to move it, but don't move it very much at all. This sensor is what tells your computer what gear your transmission is in.

I have the procedure to adjust the cable.

I need to know if I pry it off the ball.

All the procecure says is disconnect but not how. I don't want to break it off.

It looks like it pops off a bushing.

It's the end of the transmission cable

Yes, that part just prys off and then you can press it back on. I just had mine off this weekend.

Finally someone answered my question......Thank you
