i recently piced up an 88 gt 5.0 for cheap. im highly considering the 5.0 swap and throwing the 4-oh out the window. can anyone help me on this question, ..... can the centersection (third-member) be swapped into my x?? it has posi and there both 8.8. does anyone know if the run the same spline axels?? and can anyone tell me the names of some people on here that have or tried the 5.0 swap? thanks

i tried that seach i couldnt seem to get a whole lot, i tried typing differential rearend swaps ect ect, so they do bolt right in then??

Most Mustangs had 28 spline axles vs. 31 spline axles in the X. If the Mustang has 31 spline axles the carrier will fit in your X.

the mustang will most likely be 28 spline and the carrier will not work. ive never heard of a stang with factory 31 splines, though quite a few guys have upgraded.
