door ajar alarm

that annoying ding when you leave your lights on/door open has randomly coming on as i drive. i have made sure that the doors are closed and i dont know what else to try. it is random. it came on this morning at a slow crawl out of my driveway and sometimes when i hit bumps in the road. it only dings 2 or 3 times the goes away. the body on the X is straight and all the door sencors are making contact. this is on a 94 sport

I disconnected mine, if you pop off the bottom of the steering column there will be a pink or reddish, I cant remember exactly, wire running straight to the ignition, by itself. mine was broken and was wobbling around in the ignition, which is why it comes and goes. You can either remove the slide peice from the ignition, or cut the wire, just either way wrap it up with electric tape and secure it somewhere out of the way.
This will kill the door chime, and the key in chime. However the seatbelt and headlight chime will still work.
