Door Ajar Light On

My 99 Explorer 2 door door ajar light stays on, and my interior lights also won't go off. Can anybody tell me where the door switches are located? Also, where is the tailgate ajar switch? I've searched Chilton's manuals, and can't find a thing on these elusive little buggers! Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

The switch is located in the latch assembly. Try spray electrical cleaner into the latch assembly and open/shut the door several times. That should loosen the dirt build up for alitlte while. The hatch adjar switch should also be located at the latch and again try doing the same thing to it.

Thanks Al -- I ended up disconnecting the wire from the bottom of the switch and it did the trick. Cleaning spray wouldn't work. Since it was the passenger door, I can live without the entry switch. Thanks again for the reply!
