door ajar light on?

my door ajar light is on, it wont go off, it seems to be a common problem? 2 of my friends fords have them , all 97's... any ideas? solutions?

Do your overhead lights stay on? Does your rear wiper work? Rear Glass or Door may not be closed all the way if your wiper won't work, otherwise one of the door sensors is stuck/broken

the cargo light and courtesy lights stay on, but the rear wiper works 100% all the time

Just an idea..........go SLAM the rear liftgate.

i had/have this problem. it was the door sensor things. the wiring must get screwed up somehow. i just unplugged the sensor in the door that it wasn't working in. the only difference it makes is when you open the door the light won't come on. won't affect the PW OR PL. it also happened to the hatch window. ford must suck at wiring. i did an easy fix by unplugging them for now. it's a little grey clip that unplugs under the panel. you can tell which door it's coming from by the beep that the dorrs should make when yopu open them and stuff. good luck

ive tried slamming EVERY door every time, constantly, but still to no avail, i think im just gonna use the haynes manual and rewire the whole door including lights ....
