Door Keyless Entry is DEAD...

I have an 02 xlt, with door keyless entry. I absolutely love this feature on the xlt. Gives me the freedom to leave my keys in the car for one less thing to carry with me! It was working fine until yesterday afternoon. It simply just stopped working. I haven't done any modifications to the truck recently, well actually the only thing I've done to it so far is put an after market radio in which was months ago!! The key fob still works, lock, unlock, latch and panic. The keypad doesn't even light up when I press any off the buttons. I thought for sure it was a fuse that had blown so I searched the owners manual and no luck, there is nothing listed that I could see in any of the three fuse boxes, well two boxes and relay box.... I'm very confused on why it would just stop working and why there isn't a fuse dedicated to this!!

hey, me too.
but in addition, when i do try the keypad, it sets off the alarm!!
also, when the car is running the d/s lock switch works, but when
i am exiting the car the switch is dead....
let me know if anyone hepls, i wii do likewise

I looked in my Chilton and it looks like it can only be one of two things: Either the keypad it self failed or the central security module located in rear panel is not sending power to the keypad. Third possibility is that the a wire broke somewhere, but not likely.

If you know how to take your door panel off, you could probably get to the connector and take some voltage checks. I would think the voltage would be low going to the pad, maybe +5 volts or so. Not sure. Do the above at your own risk. You could get a Chilton manual and look for the wiring diagram as well. Good luck.

entry keypad not locking

My entry keypad is only working on the lock feature press 3/4 or 8/9 to lock and it works.
Press in the default code nothing happens, no lights or sounds.
Anyone out there have the same problem and or knows the fix.
