I have been attempting to replace a broken outside door handle (driver's door) on my wife's 2000 explorer. I removed the j shaped linkage between the latch and ouside door handle but can not remember how the j linkage was hooked to the door handle. Does anyone know if the short length of the j shaped linkage, when installed, faces to the front of the truck or rear. I've tried installing the linkage both ways; there seems to be some interference with the window track when insalled one way but does not attatch to plastic latch clasp easily the other.
