door lock rod drivers side

My door lock mechanism stopped working. Its not the actuator I already check it. Some how the rod came off of the clip that goes to the key mechanism.

Please see photos what an I missing here ?

How does this attach ?

Pop the clip open and slip the rod in.
The clip may be stubborn to open at first but you'll get it.

Also, depending on which rod this is, the clip will have to be on a certain place on that rod. You'll need to find the sweet spot for it to work properly.

Are you saying to take off this pink clip and slide it over the rod to the point where the bend and flat spot is then reattach the pink clip ?
