The door locks on every door except the passenger side rear don't work. Sometimes, the driver side rear doesn't work and the tailgate is also touchy.

Any help?

They're power locks and they work fine otherwise. They just don't pop up or slide down when I click the remote or use the keyless entry pad.

not sure I understand "they work fine otherwise. They just don't pop up or slide down..."... that tells me they don't work. Anyways, as the earlier poster suggested, wd40 is a "fix".... IF you are saying that the locks "attempt" to move but are unsuccessful... meaning its mechanical. IF there is no "noise attempt", then its electrical. On the mechanical side of things, tons of posts on linkage problems... you have to take the doors apart and inspect the linkages for breakage or binding.

I think what he's saying is that the locks work when he uses the driver or passenger door lock buttons, but not when using the remote or the keyless entry. Am I right on this, ExplorerX99? :)

If that's the case, there may be an issue with your Remote Anti-Theft Personality Module.

actually, I don't think that's right... cause he says "door locks on every door EXCEPT the passenger side rear don't work"... I think that indicates that "something" works and I assume its with the remote or buttons.... so I don't think its the RAP. BUT, the rest of the post doesn't really help clarify things much so hopefully more info will help but it appears to be more mechanical that electrical.

Oh, I see, for some reason I only read the second post which led me to believe that was the issue. :banghead:

I'll wait for clarification and see...

Ok guys... I'm really sorry if I was vague with my posts but here goes another attempt...

Let's start with all of the doors closed and locked.

When I push the button on the remote, USUALLY, just the passenger side rear door will unlock. SOMETIMES, the passenger side front door and drivers side rear door will also unlock. The tail gate is also hit or miss. Sometimes it unlocks and sometimes it doesn't.

When I use the keyless entry pad, the same result.

When I use the lock/unlock buttons on the door, the same result.

When I stick the key in either of the doors, the key turns smoothly every time and I have no trouble unlocking either door. Also, when the handles are pulled from the inside, the door will open everytime.

I hope this clears it up a bit. I would really love to fix this problem myself if I can. Any help is appreciated greatly!

Thanks all!

Hmm, it seems strange that just the passenger door would unlock, because the passenger door and both rear doors all receive power from the same splice in the circuit:

When you have this problem, do all of the doors not work together? Or is it one or the other?

It would appear that it is mechanical... again, the question is "do your doors make a noise in attempting to unlock / lock?".... IF Yes then, its mechanical at each door. IF NO then choose one and remove the panel and test for voltage at the actuator during the "attempted" operation.

The relays are located in Axillary Relay Box #2 which appears to be in the jack compartment. (Remove the access panel on the left side of the cargo area.)

if any door works (at all), it is NOT a relay issue.

Looks like there's nothing left for you but to start removing panels and testing at the actuators.

Yea... I guess so! Thanks so much for all the info and help!

I'll post my progress as it occurs!
