Door panel / headliner / moulding fasteners and tools

Hey all... I just bought a 2003 explorer and of course it could use a little TLC.

I have noticed that some panels have come loose and won't easily snap back into place.

I have also noticed some rattling behind the panels. I want to make it my goal this season to refasten all panels and get behind each one and see if I can diagnose any rattles and probably stuff a few cavities with foam.

Can anyone recommend the best tools for safely removing panels and anything else I'm not thinking of?

Also, am I lucky enough for there to exist a kit with all interior panel fasteners??? You know the little plastic knob things or whatever.

Anyway, I love the explorer. 119k miles and drives GREAT! Coming out of a 2008 BMW 335 and I still love this old explorer haha.

Go to the local auto parts store or online and get a panel remover toolset. Best $40 I've spent. I bought a set of trim removal tools and a panel remover shoe horn.

Ok ill have to get that kit. But what about all the fasteners / clips? I feel like every time I peel a panel off, I damage the plastic fastener, making it weaker and more rattle prone.

Here's a good source if you need quantity. Much cheaper than buying them individually from the
dealer, or in assorted packs from the AP store that contain much less than you need, and waste.

Thanks for the link. The problem is that I don't know what all I'm going to need. I was kinda hoping for an Explorer pack or something. Something that goes ahead and packages all the normal fasteners I might find on my interior. Maybe an interior pack and an exterior pack. Wishful thinking I guess.

I suppose I'll have to jump into it and see what I break then go from there.

VERY wishful thinking, don't forget auto dealers make bank selling parts and service.
Wouldn't surprise me if they charge at least $1 each for those those door clips.
