what size speaker other than 6x8 and 5x7 will fit in the stock door opening?

I know that this isn't your question but I have some 6X8" Balunpunkts from Crutchfield and I am very satisfied with them. They were pretty cheap also.

I wanted to make sure that a 6 1/2" component set would fit. what kind of mounting bracket would you suggest?

you would have to make a homemade one-i would suggest a thin piece of MDF-talk to "kkreit01" he posted something about making homemade brackets for a 6-1/2 component set......
