I have searched the best I know how and cannot find the answer. Where do get the spacer for the strikers on a 96 ford explorer sport. I found one thread but when i clicked on the info it took me to ebay and said item no longer available. thanks

You've probably read the Dorman 38424 bushing kit will NOT fit the door strikers.
Save time and use the complete 38445 assembly using a T45 or T50 Torx bit @ 30ft/lbs.

Found after replacing them, the cause of my creaking noises were dry rubber door seals.

Agreed- some get the Delryn stuff from Home Depot and go through the process of taking them apart and trying to rig up a new bushing, some use electrical tape that will tear and open the space up again. Just get the Dorman Help! part and be done with it.

thanks

When I put in the model of my explorer it says it want fit but is that incorrect. Thanks

Weird- it does now say 1991-1995 Explorer.

I know for a fact that they went into my 1997, since I took them out of the 1995 and put them into my 1997 myself... :)

Ford used that striker assembly for decades...
