Okay, stupid question--where are the door switches on a 2013 Explorer Sport? Are they different for the technology pack-402a?

I've looked and can find no external switch? Are they proximity switches?

I've googled and searched other forums, but to no avail...

It's not earth shattering, but thought it odd I couldn't find them....! Thanks!

Not sureh which switch you are talking about but you have one inside and one outside of the door handle to lock and unlock, the three number pad on the door post. Not sure if you need the technology package as you would only have the door buttons with the keyless ignition/entry package.

Thanks...

But I mean the one for the dome light, door ajar warning, etc... The switch that senses when the door is open or closed.

Got ya now, but not sure what it uses then as I haven't paid much attention other then I didn't see one externally either.

This was also brought up over a year ago although I am unable to find the thread at this time. I don't believe there are actual switches like the ones we are used to seeing. Are your interior lights not coming on?

They are... It was more out of curiosity/knowledge... I was treating the rubber parts and weatherstripping and realized there weren't any boots covering door switches... There weren't any door switches!

I, too, looked but couldn't find threads...

Be nice when the 2013 electrical wiring diagram books become "public"...

Thanks!

I believe that they are part of the latch assembly of the door. When the door shuts, the bar on the jamb catches in the assembly and the lock mechanism rotates around the bar to latch it. When this rotates, it triggers a switch inside the assembly indicating it is closed....
