Just double checking that I am doing it right....Never worked on the brakes for my 1998 Explorer Sport, but I have done brake work on my 2002 Trans Am
Breif edition*
Take wheel off
take caliper nut off and rotate up
with large clamp push the piston back until far enough to fit new pads, and do testing.
Now if I wanted to change the rotor as well, I am assuming the only differance would be to take the bracket/caliper off, and knock the rotor off and place a new one on. I don't believe there should be any additional nuts or anything right?
Is it the same thing for the back, or is it different? I am confused because when I went to the shop today they told me $400 for front rotors and pads, but why didn't he quote me on front and rears? Also he looked at me like I had 10 heads when I asked him about the back as well...very confusing
