Drafts 6" myron and davis static mount in dash fiberglass

so for the life of me i can't get the sound working at all. this is really biting me in the @ss. i'm in some need of help :p

i got a fm modulator, with 2 rcas (red/white) males. two male rcas (red/white) from the xbox, and two more female rcas (red/white) off of the tv box itself. i bought two double female connectors thinking i needed to hook the xbox and modulator together, but nothing. i honestly don't know what to do, and since drew isn't responding on aim, thought i'd open this up to you guys. once i get this finished, gonna video the install and probably entire truck tomorrow, hopefully.

thanks in advance. ;)

Cig plug was cut off and hardwired to the new 8ga I ran throughout the truck on a 40amp fuse.

I figured this thread is worthless without pictures (well, more of them), still trying to get the sound working (aim me drew :p).

but anyways, here's the speedy process so far. haven't bothered beautifying everything yet, i have spring break next week anyways, so i'll leave that till then.

inverter and xbox just sitting in place right now, inverter is going to be moved to behind the rear seats to the 2nd 8ga i ran in the truck when i become unlazy.. and well, the xbox, i just hope to get a true dvd/tv tuner soon, so that i can flush mount this somewhere.

just some far shots from both outside and inside... sort of the "entire setup" in the front at least.

I was hoping to video the entire setup and stuff, but I ended up not stopping by my friends, little tired. Maybe next week on spring break or something. This is basically it till next week when i can clean half of this stuff up, time really has me as of late. :(

it looks great man, i'm sure i can help you get it figured out.

I dont know if it would have been possible, but i think the radio should have been faced upwards a bit/on an angle. But it looks good how it is. I just think it would have been easier to use on an angle.

Yeah, and I even mentioned that too to drew, but all in all, I love what was done, and I hardly pick at it while I drive, so it doesn't really bother me. It's angled towards the driver slightly though, so it's still of ease.

Trust me, more people will stare the TV down than the contour of the HU relocation. ;)

actually, that has been duly noted by me since you did suggest that after you got it. I sort of feel bad, that it coudl have been better. the next one i made i did change the angle a bit-

I'm cool with it, I love mine. :p

Anyways, I'm still on spring break, and had around ~6hrs this morning totally rewire this and do a "professional" install, at least until I can get a full weekend to flush mount this xbox in my passanger rear quarter panel. So I'll shutup now, pics will speak for themselves.

Needed to get into the back area of the console.

Just everything sitting out.

Closer look at minor soldering I did, wanted bump-proof connections. Before I did this, I went over bad enough bumps, even the electrical tape bounced the wires somehow, don't ask, this is better anyways.

Just a tad messy.

After about 3hrs into the morning, I started hearing the system slowly go, batt was dead. Getting my yellow top in a week as my Easter gift from parents. :p (Was charging it)

That's sort of the "working" part of the pics, now the completed:

Console before

Console after, and the plastic insert repainted (dam it was trashed).

I decided to not hide the inverter, could come in real handy if I needed to plug something in fast and easy, still flush with the seat, doesn't stick out, looks alright.

Xbox done. (for now..)

Xbox controller connections and just the remote for the DVD (until I can invest in a TV tuner/DVD player). Oh and, controllers are in glovebox. I was going to get wireless contollers, but I'd rather spend the money elsewhere for now. May change my mind later.

While waiting and sitting around, I decided to paint the sills (or whatever they're called, the plastic pieces that hold down the carpet). Not sure if I like them, they were so destroyed, may just buy a new par of tan ones from Ford, I just don't know.

Everything done for now, passanger view.

I'm satisfied. I'm going to the beach entire next week and driving a few buds up there, so I wanted to have this done beforehand. Also steam cleaned all my carpet and mats, wow was it dirty. If you've got any ideas, please let me know, I'm open to anything. :p

Adios.

Forgot to mention that all the wires underneath the HU/cupholder were all securely stored on the sides, taped together in sections in electrical tape, and all hidden, were not as messy as in one of those pictures. Also, the power/gnd going to the inverter is all fed through under the metal frame plate where the box is sitting on, and goes around to the drivers side, directly connected to the batt on an 8ga fused at 40A, for some nice power.

Will take some pictures later.
