how many of you have drilled your airbox?

what parts of it did you drill and do you have any pics?

did you notice anything different after you drilled it?

She's a big louder when you put your foot into it...other than that I noticed no difference.

Just get a KKM True Rev intake, and forget the drilled airbox. I noticed a gain in performance, as well a s a great sound on acceleration.

i've drilled mine just on the bottom, the outside and the front side,

i've noticed maybe a slight bit more acceleration and the loud intake noise

it looks ghetto but it works. that's for damn sure. :)

if you drill your airbox while its out you should paint it either yellow or one of those "Cold air intake colors" Then the cheeze box can be born or you can make fun of ricers (The ones who think it will add 40+ hp to their 4 banger)

I added a new 3" hole in the front right of the box. Sorry, no real pic, but it's almost exactly like this:

The tube is an old rubber hose from some kind of sewer fitting.

If you go through water much, I highly recommend not just cutting random holes in the box (specifically not in the bottom), but rather locating a larger hole in an area you can guard against splash intake a bit.

Result: Noticably noisier intake and a slight improvement in mid range accelleration which was nice since I wasn't expect to feel anything noticable until after opening up the exhaust a bit (later this summer).

^ yeah i know whatcha mean

What airbox? I completely removed mine to make it look like a FIPK kit or something. I just used a conical filter and instead of clasping the box i clasped the filter. It will be a little loose so i wrapped the end of the filter (that gets clamped) w/ electrical tape to make it tighter.

I don't know if i noticed anything. Not anything impressive i'm sure. But i'm sure that it helps get more air so.....whatever.
