I have been browsing the threads on how to drill my air box. the problem is that i dont know how to do it. i want to know if it is better to drill small holes on each side of the air box or if i should cut holes in the front of the box.
Please write me with suggestions on how to drill the box to its best performance and tell me what tool i should use to do this

I would recommend ditching the restrictive air box completely and purchasing a KKM or K & N open element filter system.

Tou will be very pleased with the results.

Good luck....

do they make these for a 91' explorer and if they do how much do they cost and where can i get them

what do you think about the tru rev air flo system. is it worth the 89$ i noticed that you have it on your exp. is i worth themoney a opposed to drilling the box out. and i was wodering if you keep the box when you get ths system or if you get rid of it all together

I use the KKM system and love it.

I feel a definate improvement in power, it sounds great and the best of all, it boosts fuel mileage,

Get one,,,,

I chose to cut the front of my air box because you can still pull in cooler air. I cut a big square out of the front of the airbox. I've tried an open air filter and I felt more power with the cut air box and a drop in K&N filter. Better performance and FREE. If you want the LOOK of the KKM then it might be worth the money to you. Just my opinion based on my test results.
