- '98 Ranger 2.5L 5spd
I recently noticed that my shifts are getting horribly clunky and something was wrong. I looked and saw that the balance on the front end of my 98 ranger 5spd was loose and flailing around like crazy. This is not a picture of mine, my camera is on the fritz, but I found one that looked similar online.
First off, do I really need it? From what I suspect, it just dampens the shifts while driving. Second, if it is imperative to have, then how to I go about re attaching it? The edges of it have been eaten up from it being loose, so I'm thinking I should change my U bolts out as well, because it looks like they have been through D-Day.
