- 2002 Ford Ranger Edge 4X4
Hello,
We have had one little issue with the recent ranger we picked up..
It's a Ranger 4X4 EDGE 5 speed auto 2002 4.0L SHCO 116,800 miles
when the truck gets up to normal operating temp when we come to a stop light sit a bit then take off we feel a little delayed slop in the power train, more then normal.. Thinking it my be the tranny.. Today I was in a parking lot while the wife went shopping and I thought I would hold my foot on the brake while giving it a little gas while in drive and sure enough I could feel the same delay slop.. No RPM gain that i could see to suggest slipping of the tranny.. I then hung my head out the drivers door looking at the back wheel then while holding my foot on the brake I again gave it some gas.. I could see that the delay was the rear axle pushing up on the truck.. The truck would rise and I would get the same feeling of slop.. What could it be? I had not had a chance to have my wife do this while I looked from outside the truck.. What do you guys think? No real noise to it maybe a light click .. George
