Have and 01 Mountaineer with 185,000 miles. Have a peculiar whine that sounds similar to the sound that oversized mudders make on the highway. One difference though, the brief period in between accelerating and decelerating, it does not make any noise. It sounds as if it is coming from under the rear passenger side. The faster I go, the louder the pitch gets and it seems to go away at about 75. I have checked all fluid levels and they appear to be OK. Need new suggestions.
