I have a loud roar coming from the drive train everytime i press the gas while in gear. Any ideas on what this is? I know I have the infamous tranny issue with the O/D light flashing. However that light has been flashing for the past 100,000 miles and goes out occasisonaly.

You have been driving your car 100,000 miles with a warning light flashing?? And you are worried about a noise now? I really don't know how to respond to that. Anyway, just so I'm not too much of a smart a$$, can you give us some more information? Is the noise in the rear differential, trans, transfer case, etc.? Is is a gear whine? Bearing noise? Grinding noise? Does it happen at most speeds? Does it go away when you let off the gas and coast?

wellll

I would say aside from what already stated that you park it with e brake and wheels blocked. Then crawl under it look for any grease being slung, also grab ahold of the drive shaft and give it a few shakes on each end. There should be little to no shake. If you feel a wiggle it's more than likely a u joint. Not to mention i am sure they need replaced anyway. Going 100k on a dummy light is a clear sign that you might have compounded the problem. Get some money together and some tools and free up a few nights to fix it right, if you don't know how find a friend who knows and is capable of doing so or shop for a good mechanic.
