This is on a 1992 explorer.
It will always engage reverse, but will not engage D or any other gears. For awhile, I could play around with the shifter and kinda go from reverse down to 2 real quick and it would catch. There was no sign of slipping or burnt fluid. However, the fluid did look really dark but had no burnt smell. Is there some sort of actuator solenoid?
