When i drive my 92 4 door 4x4 explorer i get a hum at about 70 kilometers an hour, it doesnt always happen at 70 but latly the sound has been occuring all the time at 70. The faster i go the louder it gets and (im not positive) i think its pulling the truck to one side at 100km. The drivers side brake rotor has terrible gashes in it from losing the pad on the brake pads for a week (ugh) but i think its the driveline. any ideas? The truck has manual locking locking hubs and is otherwise stock Thx

Are the hubs in the lock or the free position? If in the free position, are you certain that they are disengaging?
And I can't help but think that it could be that chewed up rotor. It will be hard, in a forum like this, for me to eliminate the rotor as a possible cause until it's fixed. At this point I'd fix what I knew to be broken, then work on the unknowns.

Yeah the hubs are unlocked, i put duct tape from the front driveshaft to the radius arms and it never ripped so the front driveshaft isent spinning, i bought a new rotor and am going to install it when i have a second rotor and new pads. Sadly i think the humming is coming from a leak in my rear window on the hatch (sadly because im gunna feel stupid if thats the problem :P)

An tire outta balance?

Just a suggestion.
