I've searched the forums for a while and can't find my problem.
When starting from a standstill, the driveline shudders, vibrates, rumbles. It sounds and feels exactly like a BMW 5 series with a bad center driveshaft support bearing. Once underway things are smooth.
I've visually checked u-joints (could still be an issue) and
the motor and trans mounts, but it is hard to tell. I'm thinking ujoint or motor/trans mounts. 95 explorer with 140K. New transmission.
Any good way to test the tranny and motor mounts.
I put the rear up on jack stands and had the SO put it in gear run the drivetrain. With no load, no wonder nothing showed up. I watched the tranny and motor mounts, and particularly the passenger motor mount seemed to move a little when letting off the gas and braking the wheels. But of course it should move a little right.
