I had the locking mechanism and actuator replaced due to the driver door not locking with key or fob. Now it locks but doesn't unlock with key or fob.

I've taken the panel off and can't tell what is going on. The previous owner mudded in this thing or something because everything is coated in dirt. Anyway, just in testing it, while the door is open, the locking bar moves up and down just fine. Close the door and it jolts slightly like it wants to unlock with the fob but doesn't. Key just feels jammed, no unlocking it while the door is closed any way other than reaching through from passenger side and pulling door handle.

I've read about the relay in the back, it is making a clicking noise, not sure if that's a problem but other posts seem to indicate it wouldn't lock if it was and it would affect all doors and that's not the case with mine.

I've read about a rivet missing but its filthy in there, hole might be clogged up with mud, can't tell either way.

Already paid a lousy mechanic $200 to get me to this point and wants another $200 to fix it again. Any suggestions would be great.

Impossible to diagnose without visual inspection. Recommend you flush the dirt
from the door latch and ALL mechanisms before returning to your "lousy mechanic".
Strong household degreaser, compressed air, and lubrication should help. Keep posted.
