I am starting to see rust holes in my rocker pannel in my 1994 explorer. Anyone know how much this will be to fix, or if I could do it myself. I am kinda looking for a quick fix for it. Nothing too expensive.

Thanks

In my experience it's pretty much hopeless without replacing the rocker panel which I think is somewhere in the $1500 to $2000 range. The problem with just fixing it the way it is, is that there is probably a lot more rust than just where the holes are (like probably most of the way up and down that bottom panel) it just hasn't eaten all the way through yet. And unless you get all of the rust any fix you do isn't going to last that long. I had the same problem and had Ford fix it for about $250 but it only lasted about a year. They removed the metal where it was really bad and fixed it with fiberglass and it looked good. But after a year it just started eating out around where the fiberglass joined the metal.

I have the same problem on my 91 X. When I find a rust spot I spray body undercoating on it. This works for me because the rocker panels were coated this way from the factory.

X's are nortorious for this.
There's not one '91 to '94 X in New York that's not shot right in front of the rear tires.
