I am looking for a way to by-pass the power window lock on the drivers side 2001 Ford Explorer XLY.. All window switches work fine but it looks like my window lock switch is the problem. Rather then buy a whole module I would like to know if anyone has by passed this switch and how. If not I need help with removing the module. I removed the four screws and still it will not pop out of the arm rest. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

You could fashion up a jumper wire from one end of the lock out of the other. I am unsure how it exactly works, but i am pretty sure it just creates an open circuit for the other 3 switches.

Or...

go to the junk yard, and take one out. that way you can get a working one, and not have to worry about breaking your truck.

After taking door panel apart and removing module it was because of so much dog hair and dust that the contacts were not making contact. After cleaning it up the window lock works like it is supposed to. Unfortunately I lost a spring or something because the switch don't stay in either position so for now I stuffed a piece of paper to keep switch in the unlock position. Thanks for the jumper help

+1 on the JY suggestion. Lots of these vehicles in salvage yards.
