Driver's Side Window Scratches??

Hey i am just wondering if you guys know anything about this problem. I bought my explorer sport about 6 months ago and when i got it it had these scratches on the drivers side window. i thought that the previous owner was just stupid and rolled his window down with it all dirty and it got scratched up. So i went to a local junk yard and looked for a replacement window.. I found 3 explorer sports that were 99's like mine. and they had THE SAME SCRATCHES almost in the same spots exactly. was there a defect in the door of these that caused those scratches??

Probably the metal clips on the exterior gasket. They rust and spread, and contact the outside of the window. Good luck forming them back into some shapethat works....
