Hello from Spain...!!!
I need some help.
I drive a '95 Ford Explorer 4x4 XLT.
When driving on wet (rain) asphalt (on the road), is it safer to swicht on the 4x4 mode. I mean, is it better to drive with 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive?

Don't use the 4X4 in that situation. 2WD is better

Thank you very much for your quick reply...!!!
I noted your recommendation.

Regards from Spain..!!!

hi

yea driving in 4x4 uses alot of gas, also you cant make the sharp turns when driving on the streets very well

If you have a true 4x4....4hi/4lo. You never want to engage 4x4 on just wet pavement. You might get away with it for awhile...but one day POP, and a large repair bill. True 4x4 is for dirt, mud, I use it in snow also, other than that it's 2wd.

Later
CP :D

I hope I didn't sound mean...I didn't intend to.

you have a 95 whch means that you have the 2wd 4wdauto and 4low 4wheel auto is what you should have it in wet pavement it is what the 98+ is in all the time and it will provide the best traction. it is in 2wd until it senses any slipping and will automaticle compensate by sending power to the front axle
