Hey all! I just wanted to write this FORScan changes to those who are interested!

The following FORScan changes below allows you to use your white LED bars brightened up in your headlights at night time without using your low beams—also will work during the day as well with the Explorer being in park. By default, Ford has made this option dim during day and night time, this fixes that!

This would be perfect for those going to car meets like myself, wanting to take pictures at day/night, etc and want to have your led bar on, this is for you!

To note, I’ve first found this out by my own for my 14th gen F-150s and posted in the 14th gen F-150 forum (same screen name), which I’m very well known for among several FORScan changes. @powerboatr can personally vouch for me.

**Below is the picture of my ST in night time taken at a friend's house just now, in headlight switch/knob number 2 and in drive, not parked. Low beams do not turn on, just the white LED bar with fog lights. You can use the fog lights on or off with it, which works perfectly in switch 2! If you wish to use your low beams, just simply go back to auto mode (switch 3), it's that easy!

**This will work for all 2020+ Explorer trims with LED bar in their headlights, will not work with FPIU due to amber DRL.

AS ALWAYS, BACKUP YOUR BCM MODULE BEFORE MAKING THE CHANGES!

Values to change in BCM (as-built): BCM -> 726-42-01 -> x2x2-xxxx-xxxx

*REMEMBER--leave the "x"s alone, only change the numbers (2)

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

**For those with possible flickering LED bar: (headlight and/or fog light);

This is the alternative way of making your LED bar brighter. If your headlights/fog lights are flickering or notice it is, the below steps is what you must do.

1. Revert/restore your changes in FORScan that you did for the above change via backup that you made to restore back to factory as-built values for line - BCM: 726-42-01 -> x2x2 xxxx xx--. Make sure to write and cycle your truck on/off.

2. Go into BCM as-built once again and create a backup once more, to be safe.

3. Change the following as-built with the following values. The preferred value that has been tested as of May 2022, is 4B (75%). Change only the "**" area, and leave the rest of the values in the line the way they are as default.

726-38-01 xxxx **xx xx--

64 =100%
5A = 90%
4B =75%
32 = 50%
19 = 25%
0A =10%

3. Write to the truck and cycle the truck on/off, a few seconds apart. Enjoy!

Will they go back to normal brightness when the headlamps come on? If not, this could be a concern of too much light for oncoming traffic.

Yes sir, as long as you stay in mode 3 on your headlight switch (auto mode), operates like normal at night!
--Same change I found 2+ years ago for the 14th Gen F-150 forum and it went viral quick--this FORScan change works the same way for this mod for our Explorers! Which a huge plus!

Drivers can use the mode 2 on headlight switch without using auto mode and low beams won't come on if they wish to only use the LED white bar at night in the city if they wish to. Options are there when you need it! ;)

Ill go back and check this out now, i messed around with it but couldnt figure out the normal brightness at night because they are 100% too bright to use at night, it was almost like having another set of fog lights! But the forecscan stuff here confuses me. The last update i got gives a drop down menu with options, theres no coding anymore. But i see all these sheets and info with bcm code written out. Im able to change all that stuff without doing any of that, but its confusing as you dont know what each function does until you inable it.

BTW, fog lights are not bright for a reason.;)

@nightsade,
I just added you to a post in ST forums.

Have you worked on a 2025 yet for DRL settings? I'm struggling to get the right setting for the DRL to come on and off upon starting and stopping the car. Currently I can't get them to turn off after I start the car unless I set the "DRL Conditions" to Option A.

Hey there. Do you know if the same exists for the 2016? I want it to NOT dim down I turn the headlight fob to 2nd or 3rd mode. I want it to stay the 1st brightness at all modes. Thanks in advance

Hi, Peter
Do you have any experience with FORScan or know anyone who does? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

No, I don't have any experience using FORScan. I lease my vehicles so I don't want to modify any factory settings even if they can be reversed.
Several members have used the program but I don't know who offhand. You could try just scanning the forum.

Oh okay thanks. Unfortunately I searched around a lot and couldn’t find anything for my model
