Dual alternator?

Is it possible to put a dual alternator on a 99' explorer 4.0 SOHC? if so does anyone have any pictures or anything to help me? Thanks yall

Way more hassle than what it's worth.
Just buy a higher amperage alternator. Premier Power Welder sells 400 amp alternators. Not Cheap, but 400 amps! :eek:
 






Ditto, it costs a little more than a dollar per amp for the aftermarket units. Two would be nice, but you would be trying to fit it in space which I think is not enough. The V8 trucks could do it more easily. Good luck,

whats the amperage on the stock alternator?

those ones on that site are $$$$$ 700$?!?!?!
 






The high option Explorers should be 130 amps, most good aftermarket alternators should be a little more than $1 per amp. Make sure to check the idle speed and amperage rating at that speed. Regards,
