Dual Exaust

Im looking into getting a flowmast dual exhaust put on my explorer. I know its going to sound amazing with the 5.0L V8 under the hood but i dont know how much it will cost to do it. Is there a flowmaster dual exhaust for a explorer? If anybody who has a dual exhaust system pleae tell me how you like and and how much it cost. Thanks

No company sells a dual exhaust set-up for the explorer. You just need to take your explorer to an exhaust shop and they will custom bend everything for you. Depending on where you want it to exit, you might have to remove the spare. The price depends on where you go and what things you want (tips, etc.). It will probably cost somewhere around $300 more or less.

No, but you run into clearance problems with the left rear shock and it will cover up the differential a little which makes it hard for a diff service. Always pros and cons.

there are a lot of people on this forum with duals out the back. Its all on preference. It has a nice tone to it (w/ the 40 series) and it lets the engine breathe better. If you have a good exhaust shop, they should be able to make it work perfectly.

I had a 2000 5.0 Explorer with true duals out the back and it sounded mean as hell. I went with Flowmaster Series 40 non-delta mufflers. Fully custom mandrel bent exhaust with 2 series 40 flows cost me $525 at a local shop. I also have a true dual exhaust setup on my 03 4.6 explorer, now that the 5.0 met its demise over a year ago. I thought it was well worth it. No one expects that mean of a sound to come from an SUV. I used to scare the hell out of people when I had my 5.0 with the cam, roller rockers, and shift kit revving to 5,800 letting the auto tranny shift and squeal the tires into second gear. Bottom line,.......get it.

Hey man I had duels out the back and I had to take the spare off. I ran into clearence problems over the diff, but it worked and thats with 7 inches of lift. I just cut mine off and i get better sound and response and it is just kool to ahve it cut-off.

I'm assuming to just go for the appearance look of duals would be cheaper?

525 is a little much i have a few other things i gotta still buy

It just depends on where you go to have it done.. I've seen some people that had it done for $300 or less. And also, if you get mandrel vs. crushed.

I think that doing fake duals is a ricer mod to be honest. Just my opinion, but I think that since you got a V-8 go ahead and do it some justice by getting it a true dual exhast.

My dad works at a car lot and brought home an F-250 with a 5.4. It looked like it had duals but when I looked up under it, the previous owner just put a Y-pipe after the muffler and had the tail pipes come out the corners . Really lame IMO
I saw the video of Rocket's 5.0 Explorer from another thread and the exhaust sounds really really nice . I'd go with the true duals after hearing his.
