Has anyone put dual exhaust on their first generation Explorer? I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks.

just had a new exhaust put on today and i was going to put duals from the cat back but the only way it could be done was to lose the spare tire underneath because of interferance with the brake lines over the drivers side of the rear axle and clearance at the back of the gas tank. don't get me wrong, it can be done but you have to lose the spare to clear everything. i ran 2.5" from the cat and a flowmaster 50 series muffler and it has a great v8 sound now, not that sound like glasspack carry on 4 and 6 cly. you know like air under water.

I had dual exhaust put on my explorer. I installed the spare tire before they routed the pipes to make sure it would clear. The drivers side doesnt rub anything but they could have routed the passanger side more like stock because it rubs on the shock when the axle is heavily twisted up.

The tips come out behind the tires on the sides. I also seemed to have gain some power over the stock system.
