Dust Seals?

What exactly are dust seals? I was reading a post on dust seals but I have no idea what they are.

Do you mean Dust Boots??? As in Hub Seals and Dust Boot Covers? They are the rubber thingies covering the hub seals/CV joints I think.

They are rubber seals that keep the dirt out of the bearing assemblies, in cold weather they squeal just like your brake pads are going bad, but they squeal all the time and at any speed.
