DVD Install Information

Anyone have experience with adding an overhead dvd player/monitor in the '06 with the Nav system?
Looking to buy a used '06 Mountaineer premium, but the factory overhead dvd is a little hard to find.

I would do this, but I can't settle for FM modulation for audio. If you come up with a way to get aux audio into the Factory nav unit, let me know. That's the only thing holding me back from adding any rear video.

i dont remember exactly but it's very pricey. It was around $500-600. Plus you have to have the Nav unit modified to accept the inputs from the interface.

I know you have the OEM DVD Entertainment System, I wonder if they spliced into that to get a direct audio connection.

Another user recommended the FD-XMFD5 that allows XM connectivity. The XM direct connects audio through RCA cables, so that would allow for an auxiliary input so you don't have to use FM.
