DVD player install

I am thinking about installing a ceiling mounted DVD player in my 06 Ex. My concern is how do I mount this to the ceiling with the sunroof in the way? Any advise?

It's hard to describe but there's a bracket/plate shaped like this \_____/ with that mounts with the factory dvd player on the bottom while the sunroof slides between the gap of the roof and bracket.

The Ford Accessory units go for around 1200 and they come with everything. Brackets, harness, remote....

Thats what I have in mine.

Hey tldt2003 do you have any more info on that overhead DVD system? There is one at a nearby wrecking yard and I wanna make sure I get everything I need. I am looking to do the same thing as bojans.

What would you like to know? If your X has a moonroof, make sure that the donor does as well. The same with rear air. Let me know what other questions you have. I'll try to answer!

I would try the salvage yard. Much cheaper than from Ford, if they even sell it separately.

i would drop the head liner and look to see what is available up there. Do you have th moonroof? at my shops usually the moon roof version is a lot easier to install. i would slap a thinner piece of wood under the linder and screw the screen to that.

Yes, I have the moonroof and the bracket I would be getting also has one so I am good there. I looked up at my moonroof and it looks like I will have to drill the holes for the bracket to mount which is no big deal. I guess my main questions is what wire harnesses will I need? I know there is a wire harness that goes from the bracket down to the back piller at the rear door and then plugs into another wire harness. What harnesses does the stock one come with so I can make sure I get all of them.
