I am going to install an MTX Amplified ThunderForm in my 88 very soon. I am wondering about rattling and vibrations; I have been advised to use Dynamat in the install.

My question is exactly how do you use Dynamat and where do you put it.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks…

To install the Dynamat brand deadener you gotta use a heat gun and press it to the surface, I use a roller I bought along time ago to get air bubbles out... If you're just going with the MTX Thunderform, I'd put some deadener behind the enclosure on the inner 1/4 panel, and probably on the back of the plastic interior 1/4 panel...

FYI: If you don't have a heat gun, or don't want to go to the trouble of farting around with one, go with Cascade brand V-block stuff... www.partsexpress.com sells the Cascade stuff. I personally like the Cascade products better than the Dynamat, I've installed both and prefer the ease of install of the Cascade gear, and I like both better than spray on stuff, its easier to reverse... HOWEVER, I usually use Ice-Guard (or Ice-Block, something like that). Its the same thing, an asphalt based deadener, but it is used on roofs under the shingles. You gotta buy it in huge rolls but I sell off what I don't use or go in with some other guys on a roll, and its EXPONENTIALLY cheaper. Good luck!
