Okay need help with this after i have read a lot of the posts.

I got 320 miles out of a full tank of regular. Gas around me has 10-15 ethanol anyway.

Gas is 3.75-3.80 and E85 is 2.95

Is it going to be worth the switch? anything i need to do to get ready for switch?

I would say yes if your getting 15% ethanol anyway, but no if its 10%.

20% prince point is usually the break even point. In other words, if 1- (2.95 / 3.75) is around 20 then you are basically breaking even and it does not matter. As that equation gets higher than 20 your advantage is E85. As it gets less, your advantage is E10-15.

With E 85 your going to loose somewhere around 33% of your fuel economy. So if your going 300 miles a tank your going to only go 200 miles per tank.

Yeah, the 20% is a rule of thumb so Roamer brings up a good point.

From what I see, you will lose 23% in the city and 26% highway.

So revise the formula I gave you to be breaking even around 25%.

Stick with the E10-15 at that price point.

Unless you just want to feel good about what your doing to help global warming, which is now climate change since its been freaken COLD!

Screw global warming lol

is 300 miles good for my vehicle ( i do sit in quite a bit of traffic going downtown and back for work )

its a 23 gallon tank so light comes on at what like 21 gallons and i fill up when light comes on asap or before

so fill to light 21 gallons

300 miles divided by 21 gallons 14mpg?

That is about the same MPG I get running around down, and driving short distances out of town with kayaks strapped to my roof rack. I'd say you're right on par, with me at least. I've also read many articles about how E85 is not good for your motor/fuel delivery system, but I am no expert so I don't have an actual opinion on it.

I have only bettered you by maybe 2 mpg. I did just do my plugs and it feels like I am doing better. However, I always feel like I am doing better because the gas gauge seems to talk forever to get to the 3/4th mark, then skips down to 1/4.

Yeah, E85 is bad for a non-flex fuel vehicle. Most of ours are designed to handle it.

It is like a tune up in a tank -- pure sea foam :)

well mine is 05 so it says ethanol on the gas cap

is it good to run a tank every once in a while?

Some people think so. Sea foam and a lot of the additive people spend good money on are alcohol based.

My past couple fill ups have been averaging around 16.5mpg and I"m pretty thrilled with that.

so maybe let is get down to almost empty and add a quarter tank for cleaning
