I looked in the manual, I searched on here, I searched TRS and found nothing clearly specifying how the flywheel is aligned on the crank. The manual says to mark the alignment for reinstallation, but I turned the old flywheel in as a core today. There is nothing in the "2.9 to 4.0 clutch swap" article on TRS or anywhere else mentioning alignment being necessary.
Is the flywheel neutral balanced so it can go on any which way? Or does it have an offset bolt pattern that is not easy to see like just about all other Ford engines? I took some calipers to the bolt circle and it does not appear to have any offset holes.
