ECT sensor replacement on a 2001 Explorer Sport.

Hello,

I have an '01 Ford Explorer Sport 4x4 and am trying to replace the ECT sensor. When I open the hood I find two sensors (one brown, and one grey). I'm not sure which one to replace b/c the replacement part is black. That is the least of my worries though. I am trying not to have to take this to a shop to get replaced, however, the way that the sensor is situated is causing a problem because I think it requires taking apart a lot of other components to get to it. Is there anyone who can maybe guide me through it via written instructions or let me know the best way to do this and which sensor to replace.

You have to pull the upper intake to get to the sensor.

I dont remember which one is which, but they use different connectors. Try plugging it in and you'll know which one you have.
