i have a 96 eddie bauer with the rear AC and it has stopped working. I am getting some air coming out but not very much. enough that i think it is what is being pushed by the fan on the fire wall.

i was wondering what i can do to fix this. i asked a mechanic at ford and he said that if the relay went out it would be stuck on high. i have no fan at all. a quick trip to the autoparts store told me that they can sell me the fan that mounts to the firewall but the one in the back is a factory only part.

any suggestions?

(the front ac works just fine and the system is fully charged, just want to get some air to the kids in the back :D)

First thing to check is pretty obvious. Try to make sure you didn't turn off the rear fan by mistake by pushing the "Rear Fan Off" button at the front A/C control panel. If the display shows "Rear Fan Off", hit it again and then try the rear controls to see if they work. If not, then there's a resistor at the blower motor in the center console. It might be a bad resistor. Try to replace that. If it still doesn't work, then check the switch in the back to see if it's bad. Then if the switch isn't bad, then it's the motor. Good luck!!

thanks for the responses. all fuses are fine and i know about the switch, any other suggestions.
