Has anyone else had any problems with these. I've had mine in for 18months (about 35K miles) and just noticed yesterday the front driver's side is leaking oil around it.
No oil on mine, I've had mine almost the same amount of time as you have. But, mine really suck. They don't soak up bumps all that great, or make the ride all that much better. I have e-mailed edelbrock about getting new ones for free. They have 2 different ways you can do it. One way is you send your old ones back, and they send you new ones upon receiving the old ones. Or you can give them a CC# and they send out the shocks after receiving the card number and then you send them your old ones back and they refund your money. I wanted to just send them the CC# so I wouldn't have to do the installation 2 times. But, I have sent them my CC# 4 times and after everytime I send the number they never respond and then I e-mail them again and they clain they never got it. It really pisses me off. I sent it out to them agian a week ago and never heard from them again. Their customer service sucks big time. I still have the stock shocks so I may just send in my old IAS shocks in and have them send me the new ones after they get the old ones. I have heard of a few people on the board having their go bad early, but they have a lifetime warranty so you're covered.
I'm pretty sure my back right shock is leaking oil. I dont even remember, was there a warranty card you had to fill out when you first purchased them? Also I is there anyway to work out something where you can purchase a different shock. I have my eye on a set of Tokico.
I thought they had a one year warranty or is it lifetime for defects?. They were pretty good when I first got them, but after a year the fronts seem to be wearing out - and I only put on about 10K miles
Both my fronts leaked; one after about 10K miles, and the other at 17K. Talked to John at Explorer Express, where I bought 'em, and he said they had a run of bad ones. The replacements (warranteed) haven't leaked yet.
