i ordered my edelbrocks from performancesuspension.com for $290 including shipping. there was also a $27 rebate being offered from edelbrock also. i had the shocks installed at pepboys for $10 per shock. total installation was $43.30 with tax. I have a fairly new truck (a '97 model, so they didnt have to cut the bolts. pep boys said that if they have to cut bolts because of rust, it may cost about $15 more.

I put edelbrocks on my 94, i'm not sure how much you work on your truck or not, but anyone who wanted to take an hour of their time could replace them theirself, it's just a matter of bolts and nuts, a very easy job on the explorer, nothing has to be removed to get to the shock bolts. But i also can understand that sometimes you don't wanna hassle with it, but i did all 4 of mine in my garage in less than an hour.

GA,
How do you get to the top of the rear shocks. It may seem like a stupid question...I just havent been underneath yet. Im in Bosnia and I have only got to use my vehicle for 5days since I bought it. MY wife gets to have all the fun till I get home. In the mean time I have ordered a brush guard, rear wing, fog lights,KKM air intake, and now shocks.

I just replaced all four shocks on my '97 XLT , and getting to the top of the rear shocks involves removing the spare tire. Other than that, you just need longer arms to reach up there, if you're lying on the ground.....
